"Helping the Behaviorally Challenging Child"
“The class was very eye-opening! It’s wonderful to learn of a more positive and constructive way of dealing with our kiddos! Sara is an excellent presenter of this material. It is clear she’s “been there” and still utilizes this approach. She listens and has great suggestions.”
“I started out quite frustrated because my son is very good but also very stubborn. Now that I’ve learned to step back and allow him to learn and contribute to solutions in his life both of us are happier.”

“This class was extremely helpful for dealing with my son’s tantrums. I had previously taken a behavior management class with [another provider] that didn’t help. Following the method that I learned in class my son has stopped kicking, biting, and scratching me. We have a much more positive and pleasurable relationship now. It was the fastest and most helpful therapy I’ve done with my son and I recommend it to all parents and teachers.”

“Sara's availability was extremely helpful. The 6 weeks gave us enough time to get to know the other participants and share stories and information that was very helpful. This class has given me hope that our family will be ok!”

“This wonderful class has profoundly changed the relationship with me and my son - my husband, too. We talk more. He tantrums less. And he feels empowered - he owns the solutions and therefore works hard to carry it out. Thanks for teaching this with such passion!”

“My daughter, who is 6 years old and has high functioning autism, began telling me “I love you, Mom” for the very first time in her life, after I began implementing in our home what I had learned in Sara’s class.”
Praise for Advocacy
Sara Gardner is the advocate for our teenage daughter who has Asperger's Syndrome. Ms.Gardner has attended several of our IEPs and has successfully obtained numerous accommodations for our daughter. She has also educated the school's staff about Asperger's Syndrome and has helped them understand our daughter's disability. Because of the help and information Ms. Gardner has provided, our daughter has gone from failing grades and no friends at school to being on the honor roll and forming some good relationships. We had other advocates before she stepped in, however, things changed dramatically for the better once she began attending meetings with us.
We are extremely grateful for all Ms. Gardner's expertise, kindness and wisdom.

Sara Gardner was instrumental in working with me to assist my adult Autistic cousin. Carl was 46 yrs old before being diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. Sara gave me a place to begin and vital information on record keeping for all my contacts, taking notes at every meeting, documentation of every conversation I had with government, social institutions, physicians, teachers. She was able to provide with me with numerous contacts, phone numbers and names that were vital in my pursuit to have my cousin assessed, properly diagnosed and receive assistance from
various social organizations.
When I ran into a road block, Sara always had another contact recommendation in order for me to move forward. When I needed OC Regional Center advice, she provided me with an individual to help present the best case for my cousin. She took time from her own agenda to meet with me and or talk with me when I became frustrated.
Sara was also helpful when I needed to have an important conversation with my cousin on how to ‘phrase’ my words, so that Carl and I could better communicate with each other. I owe Sara a great debt of gratitude.
Sara’s gift is to help others with loved ones who are struggling in the world of Autism and need a helping hand to ensure the well-being of their loved ones.

Sara's expert guidance has 'talked me off the ledge' in more instances than I care to enumerate! I fondly think of her as my own private "kid koach!" Her keen awareness and experience enable her to explain my son's actions and feelings to me in ways I never dreamed possible. Not only that, but she also provides me with strategies to put into use -- and they always work! As an example, as a high-functioning autistic, my son tends to be a bit clumsy. In her words: "Our bodies betray us." So I've learned to laugh about spilled milk, dropped eggs and such. And we carry on. Stress is relieved and my son's self-confidence isn't diminished. This is just one of Sara's specialized ways of helping me meet the challenges and helping my HFA son thrive. We love you, Sara!

Dear Sara, Thank you once again for advocating on [our child’s] behalf. I can’t tell you enough times what it means to me to have you on his team. You are an invaluable asset, who has effected more positive change in six months than we have had in 3-1/2 years. Your presence is also creating a very favorable impression with the players in [our]
